About LLQ

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses [of unfinished quilts] yearning to breathe free […] send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.”

-A play on "New Collossus” by Emma Lazarus

Erin Lauer started quilting in 2002 when she took a high school elective quilting class. She was soon enamored with quilt making and made a number of quilts for family and friends. In the spring of 2017, Erin purchased her first longarm quilting machine (a Bernina Q24 named Mollywobbles), and founded Lady Liberty Quilting as a sole proprietorship.

Erin provides high quality professional hand-guided longarm quilting services from her smoke and pet free home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Erin approaches quilting as a collaboration between quilt owner and longarm quilter and enjoys adding her own touches to each quilting project. Erin loves reading, theater, social justice, British TV and living this crazy life with her wonderful family.
